🥫 Heinz Launches Self Deprecating Campaign

Heinz latest marketing campaign, ‘This is Ridiculous’, pokes fun at themselves for launching a new range of pasta sauces 150 years after the brand was established. With a company like Heinz who have a long and well-established history, it’s always good to keep things fresh without taking yourself too seriously. The campaign promises customers that the range will be ridiculously good, despite being ridiculously late.

🗄 Task Force for Ad Transparency

Advertising transparency is an important issue both for consumers wanting authenticity when they shop, and businesses wanting to keep in line with regulations. This month, the Programmatic Cross Industry Task Force, combining members of the Incorporated Society of British Advertisers, the Association of Online Publishers, and PwC, have launched a financial audit tool kit which aids companies to operate under the recognised industry standards and allows them to conduct a full financial audit of their programmatic supply chain.

📧 Time To Invest in Email Marketing

Perhaps you thought the era of email marketing was over. But if you haven’t invested in it before, now might just be the time to start. New research has shown that a third of consumers check their emails two to five times a day, and in spite of the rise of social media, it turns out that across the world email remains the preferred way for customers to interact with their favourite brands. The study’s findings went on to state that customers prefer emails from brands to SMS messages – finding that receiving texts from companies with information other than confirmation of appointment times and delivery notifications was intrusive.

📱 Boost in TikTok Dwell Time

Research shows that TikTok users are spending a third longer on the app than they did last time, further demonstrating the continued growth of the platform. While the platform hasn’t permeated the UK market to the extent that Facebook and Instagram have, the rapid rise shouldn’t be ignored by marketers. The research also estimates that TikTok had 21.8 million users in the UK, which was up by a third from the previous year.

❤️ Instagram Introduces Story Likes

This month, Instagram rolled out likes for their stories, giving its users a new way to interact with the accounts that they follow without having to send a DM. These likes are private, and can be viewed in your story insights, but still provide a fantastic opportunity to increase story engagement on the platform. Story likes are a great way for you to gain new insight in to how your followers interact with your brand and develop a clearer understanding of what they want to see from you.
