#FridayFiver 🧼 👏 🎄 – Christmas at last!

This time next week we’ll probably be sitting on our settees sporting crumpled paper crowns, as stuffed as turkeys and possibly as pickled as spiced oranges in port.

Since this is the last #FridayFiver before Christmas 2020 and we won’t be back until 2021 – and this year has made J.G. Ballard’s High Rise look like a holiday camp brochure – we’ve decided to look back on the positives of a year where we’ve got closer than ever online while staying apart in the ‘real’ world.

Have a fun (and safe) festive season and we’ll see you in a brighter, brand spanking New Year!

💉Pfizer Covid-19 jab pioneers

Moment of the year must go to 90 year-old Margaret Keenan receiving the world’s first Covid-19 vaccination on 8th December in Coventry, administered by proud Filipino-Briton and NHS veteran nurse May Parsons. There’s a long road ahead, but nevertheless this simple scene was the culmination of millions of hopes and dreams. Meanwhile, the second person to receive the famed jab was 81-year old William Shakespeare – surely Boris could have found a Winston Churchill somewhere?

😲Zoom fails

As billions of us worldwide stayed at home to try to curb the spread of Covid-19, for better or worse, video platforms like Zoom became part and parcel of our daily working lives. And even if you’re suffering from serious Zoom fatigue by now (yes; it’s a thing) you can still appreciate fantastic zoom fails!
