TikTok has fast become one of the most used platforms out there, and the usage surge it experienced in lockdown doesn’t seem to be waning. In fact, despite growing competition and regulatory issues, it’s predicted that the app will surpass over 1.5 billion users in 2022. Plus, research indicates that had the app not been banned in India, which at one point was home to 200 million users, the platform would have long surpassed the 1.5 billion mark. So, the next time you feel guilty about devoting half your day to TikTok, you’ll be able to seek comfort knowing that you’re far from alone.
🍫 Nestle Thinks Digital
The company best known to some as the makers of Nescafe – and to others as Phoebe Buffay’s Nestle Toulouse – is focusing more attention on the e-commerce market in a bid to increase sales. Nestle have stated that they intend to increase their digital marketing investment by 70% by 2025, in order to increase online sales in all areas of their business. The brand joins countless others in adjusting their priorities as more and more companies recognise the untapped potential of e-commerce.
🛍 Black Friday Blackouts?
Black Friday is one of the busiest shopping days for retailers, and with many of us still choosing to buy online, having technology that can cope with the influx is understandably a major concern for companies. But concerningly, 70% of retailers have admitted that their digital shopping services might not be enough, despite the pandemic investments they’ve made. Broken apps and site crashes can have a significant effect on conversions, so ensuring that your site can handle the influx is a must.

Customers are all about online communities, and studies show that brands that invest their time in creating an online community are 72% more likely to see shoppers retuning time and time again. Studies have also indicated that 62% of shoppers are more likely to buy from a brand that invests in social features for their apps.
🥃 Toast to the Holiday Season
Barcadi have this year planned to launch their first Christmas campaign in more than a decade, and they’ve really taken the saying ‘go big or go home’ to heart. The famous rum brand is taking over the billboards of Times Square for an hour long showcase the Christmas vignettes from their Winter Summerland campaign, and are even launching their own range of leisurewear.
