? A Day In The Life Of A Beetle
Scientists at the University of Washington in Seattle have come up with genius creation that stream’s a bug’s eye view of the world. The tiny camera weighs less than half a gram and fits like a backpack onto the back of a beetle. The battery life lasts for around an hour and sends the stream via Bluetooth. No beetles were harmed in the making of these devices!
✈️ Heathrow Robots Take Off
Like many airports, Heathrow has added a number of new health and safety measures to prevent the spread of COVID. These include compulsory face masks for passengers, thermal cameras which can detect body temperature and brand-new UV disinfecting robots in each of its terminals. The robots are adapted from hospital technology and are super efficient when it comes to sterilising.
? Doritos Leak Next Call of Duty Title
In one of 2020’s many bizarre twists, it appears that leaked Doritos promotional packaging has revealed the title of the next game in the Call of Duty series. The packaging bears the title ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’, and offers players Double XP for a year, with the promotion dates indicating an October release for the next installation.
? Jibo Gets A Second Chance
The social robot Jibo that went viral on Twitter last year was meant to die after its servers were reportedly to be shut down for good, to the devastation of many users. But happily, the beloved bot will be getting a second chance at life after a takeover by NTT Disruption. Its new owners will be transforming the robot for use in education and healthcare, as well as creating a virtual version.
? Messenger Rooms Rolls Out New Feature
The battle continues between video calling apps. But this week Facebook has rolled out a brand-new feature for its Messenger Rooms that might just rival Zoom. The update enables users in a Messenger Rooms call to broadcast their chat to Facebook Live.
