When their ‘adopt a grandparent’ scheme launched to provide virtual company via video link to their 800 care home residents, CHD Living had 72,000 people sign up in three weeks. Now the care residence group plans to launch a dedicated app for the scheme by June.

And not to be outdone, Facebook has launched Messenger Rooms, its own group video service.
